July 4

911 dispatched officers to Oliphant Street for a male who was involved in an altercation refusing to leave. Upon arrival, contact was made with the offender’s mother who stated that her son was completely out of it and was refusing to get in the car so she could take him home. She stated that the offender had an altercation with his girlfriend’s father and had a shotgun placed in his mouth. The offender was located and was showing signs of public drunkenness. Offender was arrested.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle pulling into the Waffle King. Another officer arrived and observed the driver leaned on the tailgate and could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Offender was arrested for DUI.

Officer responded to Project Street in reference to a call. Upon arrival, contact was made with complainant who stated that her son let a man stay at their place for a few weeks. The man was asked to leave and the owner of the residence was contacted.

Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to a call. The caller’s daughter has her vehicle key and refuses to give it back. C/p stated that she picked the vehicle up from an investigator at someone’s residence during a search warrant and showed proof of ownership. The daughter does not have any legal ownership of the vehicle and was advised to return the keys to her mother.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report of vehicle damage. C/p explained that earlier in the day, he took his vehicle to get a tire replaced and when he picked it up, the tire fell off and caused damage to the vehicle. This caused the driver door not to open like it should.

Officer responded to a call on West Pine Street. C/p stated that he recently moved to the residence and asked the landlord for receipts after paying rent. The landlord told him that he did not give any receipts that he only kept personal records of rent payments.

Officers were dispatched to West Moring Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with c/p who showed officer video footage of a man pick up a plant, walk a few feet, and when something was said to him, he put the plant down and walked away. Later, a man with the same description was spotted by officers at the trash dumpster behind NAPA Auto Parts. His speech was slurred, and he had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Offender was arrested.

Officer was in the area of West Street for a domestic in progress when he observed a man standing at the rear of a vehicle shooting a handgun into the air. When the officer approached him, he fled the scene.

Officers were dispatched to West Street in reference to a damage to vehicle report. While officers were en route, 911 stated that a verbal dispute was going on at this location. As officers arrived on scene, two men were arguing. Officers tried to separate them, but one of them continued to cause a disturbance. After the offender was transported to EmCo Jail, cocaine and some burned glass pipes were found.

C/p came into SPD to make a report. She stated that when she was arrested at her home, her purse was left on scene. She stated that along with her purse, her medications were left behind as well. When she was released and went home to prepare to attend a family reunion, she noticed her purse was missing and gave information on what the purse contained.

July 5

Officer was dispatched to McLeod Bridge Road in reference to a call about a resident finding a bullet hole in their home. Upon arrival to the residence, c/p stated that she found a projectile bullet piece within the cracks of her front porch.

Officer was called to SPD to make a report in reference to an individual taking card information and sending money from that card to their card. C/p stated that the offender had taken $220 from her account and sent it to his cashapp. She stated that he has been top her residence several times and she has to threaten to call the cops on him for him to leave.

Officers responded to a call at Latitude 105 in reference to the manager needing a report on damage done to an apartment. Officer came in contact with the manager who stated that the offender had been living in the apartment until July 4. The damage observed was a clogged kitchen sink, cabinet covers torn off the drawers, the refrigerator being torn and missing a bottom drawer, the bathroom having what looked to be a shirt in the toilet that clogged, and brown marks all over the wall. Upon removal of the sink, the offender had put plastic knives down in the drain line and the insides of the toilet tank had been ripped out.

911 dispatched officers to South Racetrack Street in reference to EMS needing an officer on scene. Officer spoke to one of the EMTs that stated they had received a call to a male subject who had fallen. When they arrived on scene, the man was holding his private area and had scratched on his neck and face. He stated that he had been attacked. EMTs employees stated once they made sure he was okay, they were walking back to the ambulance when they heard the offender yell at the victim. Offender was placed under arrest for battery.

911 dispatched officers to West Pine Street in reference to a fight between two males. C/p/victim was sitting on the concrete upon arrival. He stated that the offender was trying to evict him from the residence and pushed and grabbed him by the arms and neck. He then pushed him down the steps. The offender stated that the victim was no longer welcome at the residence because he would not comply to house rules. He stated that he went to his room and told him he had to leave. He stated that the victim jumped the stairs, and this caused him to fall.

Officer was called to SPD in reference to a report of clothes that had been stolen. C/p stated that her kid’s clothes were missing from the turn of her car and listed the items that were missing.

Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to c/p stating that a female took his cell phone. 911 stated that the male was hollering on the phone with them and was cursing and making racial comments to them. Officers could not get an answer at the door of the residence. C/p called 911 again and stated that he was in a different place on Lewis Street. C/p stated that offender took his phone, and he appeared very intoxicated. He was arrested for disorderly conduct for the manor that he spoke to dispatchers.

Officer was dispatched to a call in reference to a motor that had been stolen while the owner was in the process of moving houses. C/p stated that she bought a motor with her income tax money to put into her vehicle. When the motor arrived, it was placed next to the car and when she came back, the motor was missing.

Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a woman wanting to make a report for damage to vehicle. She stated that she left from work and came to Walmart. Upon leaving, she noticed that her driver’s side door handle was broken. Footage was observed and no tampering with the vehicle was seen.

Officer was dispatched to Days Inn in reference to a wallet that was stolen. C/p stated that he dropped his wallet when he entered the hotel and an unknown person picked up his wallet. He stated that the wallet was turned into the hotel and was given back to him, but the money in it was missing.

July 6

Officer was at Walmart parking lot when they ran the tag on a vehicle and the owners information came back with a suspended license. Officer intimated a traffic stop and offender was released on a citation.

Officer responded to a call at Abundance Street to make a report about a gun that was stolen. C/p stated that he needed to make a report about his gun being stolen, that he was at the Starblazer club the night before and the gun was in the vehicle when he went inside, but it was gone upon his return.

Officer was dispatched to South Green Street in reference to people fighting. Both parties were identified upon arrival. C/p stated that they were celebrating c/p and offender’s daughter’s birthday when an argument began over who got to hold the child.

Officer responded to A to Z Power Equipment in reference to an alarm of front glass break. The main door appeared to have been shot with a BB gun.

July 7

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was failing to maintain lane. Driver was arrested for DUI-alcohol.

Officers were on Kite Road for a road check when a vehicle pulled up. The driver had a suspended license, and the driver was arrested.

Officers were on Kite Road for a road check when a vehicle pulled up with the smell of marijuana coming from it. The vehicle was searched, and the offender stated that he had just smoked before he left his house, .4 grams of marijuana was located in the vehicle. Offender was issued a citation and was told that he needed a ride to come get him. Officer gave offender a ride to a gas station to wait for someone to come pick him up.

July 8

Officer responded to a call at East Pine Street in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that she just wanted SPD there when she moved her vehicle, since she and her daughter were having an altercation. After police left the scene, they were called back and c/p stated that her daughter threatened to hit her and this escalated the altercation again.

Officer ran the tag of the vehicle in front of him and it came back with the driver having a suspended license. An official notice of the license suspension was issued.

Officer responded to a call at the rear parking lot of the tag office in reference to a report. C/p advised that while making a right-hand turn, his log truck struck a crosswalk signal sign and knocked it down.

911 dispatched officer to respond to Kite Road in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers responded and learned that the victim received a gunshot wound to the arm and another in the abdomen. The witness stated that they were playing basketball behind KT’s and the witness left the court by himself and the victim continued playing. He stated that later he was driving and saw his friend walking, slumped over, and holding his stomach.

911 dispatched officers to Gumlog Road in reference to money being stolen from c/p. C/p stated that earlier in the day she was with the offender running errands and during the time she withdrew money from the ATM. When she returned home, she realized that she was missing part of that money. The alleged offender said that she did not take any of the money.

Officers responded to a call at Taco Bell in reference to a manager having a dispute with a customer. The caller advised that the manager called him an “old fart” then told him to leave the location. The caller was found to be wanted out of Troop County and was arrested.

July 9

Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the driver had no seatbelt on. The offender did not have a driver’s license and drugs were found as well. Offender was arrested.

Officers were dispatched to West Moring Street in reference to an unwanted person. Officers arrived and noticed offender on the front porch, he stated that he did not live at the residence, so he was told to leave the location by officers. He stated that he was not going to leave, so he was arrested.

Officer observed a vehicle with a busted headlight and conducted a traffic stop on it. The tag also came back with no valid insurance and suspended registration. The driver stated that the vehicle was not hers and the passenger was able to get insurance on the vehicle. Vehicle and driver were related on a citation.

911 dispatched officers to East Pine Street in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the offender who stated that she and the other woman had issues for the last year over a man. She stated that the woman texted her and told her to pull up, so she did. The offender was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

July 11

911 dispatched officers to North Anderson Drive in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, officer heard a female voice yelling profanity and saw other residents standing in the hallway. The offender made it inside a room and was still yelling. C/p stated that the offender and another female got into an argument. She stated that the offender had been evicted from this location previously and is not supposed to be on the site. The offender later threw her phone on the ground and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

July 12

Officer ran the tag of a vehicle and information came back with having suspended registration and no insurance. A traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle was towed along with citations being issued.
