Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

August 22

Officer ran a tag to find it had no valid insurance and suspended registration, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Vehicle was towed.

Officer observed a vehicle without a working taillight, at which time she initiated a traffic stop. The driver advised she did not have a driver’s license and provided a GA ID card.

Officer transported offender to EmCo Jail from SPD for a probation revocation during city court.

Probation hearings were being done and offender violated his probation and revoked to EmCo Jail for 14 days.

August 23

Officer was dispatched to Harmon Rd. in reference to a suspicious person knocking on doors stating he was with Pest Control but didn’t have on a uniform or vehicle. Offender was located on Soloman ST. with a very strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from his person and stated he was drinking the night before. Offender was asked for his ID and stated he was just going to keep moving. Offender was advised he was called in and with a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from his person he could be arrested for public drunk. Offender then provided his GA ID and stated he was going door to door seeking yard work. Officer then asked him about going door to door stating he was with Pest Control and he denied saying that. Officer made contact with a few residences that offender stated asked him to clean gutter and such and they stated he gave them bad vibes and did not want him back on their property.

Officer responded to D&I in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were attending to victim who suffered from a gunshot wound in his lower abdomen. EMS arrived and transported victim to EMC.

August 24

Officers responded to EMC ER in reference to an assault. Officers spoke to complainant who stated that earlier in the night, offender hit her in the face and hit her with a rod. Officers were then dispatched to King Circle Dr. in reference to a domestic. Offender stated c/p cussed at him and they had a disagreement, then she left.

Officer was dispatched to King Circle Dr. in reference to a domestic. Complainant stated he and his girlfriend had an altercation and it escalated to the point of offender attempting to hit him with a vehicle and slashed all four tires on his vehicle.

Officers responded to Dollar General in reference to a shoplifter. Complainant stated offender left in described vehicle and provided the tag number. C/p also offender grabbed makeup off the shelf and more unknown items and placed them in her purse and pockets. Offender then went to the front to pay for some other items then left the store, setting off the alarm. Contact was made with offender who stated she was at home so officers made contact with her and served her a criminal trespass warning.

Officer was dispatched to Mojo’s Car Wash in reference to damage to a vehicle. Complainant stated she went through the car wash and her vehicle was dented and scratched badly. One of the employee’s watched the camera and stated the damage was not on her vehicle when she entered the car wash.

August 25

Officer observed a vehicle with no working tag lights and drive out tag with no date, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Driver was asked for her license and stated she left them at home and provided her name and DOB but was hesitant. Officer ran the info given by offender and the picture did not match the driver. Offender was asked to step out of the vehicle and advised she gave false info to officer. She then gave her real name and DOB. The VIN was ran to find it had no insurance or registration.

Officer was dispatched to Maryland Fried Chicken in reference to damage to property. Shift Manager stated offender hit and knocked over the voice intercom speaker at the drive thru.

Officers were dispatched to Dollar General in reference to a shoplifter. Complainant stated offender grabbed a bag of dog food and walked out.

August 26

Officer was dispatched to Presbyterian Apts. in reference to a report of entering auto. Complainant stated she observed her glove box open and center console had been opened and her belongings were scattered throughout the vehicle. Upon further investigation, officers found that five other vehicles at the complex had been entered with the same circumstances.

Officer responded to S. Green St. in reference to stolen property. Complainant stated her phone was stolen and began getting emails that her Cashapp being used to send money out.

Officer observed offender with a firearm, looked at officer as he shook his pants in an attempt to conceal the firearm. Officer drew his firearm and began to give verbal commands for offender to keep his hands where they could be seen. Officer was able to retrieve the firearm from offender’s pants leg and gave the serial number to 911. Firearm came back stolen from Swainsboro and offender was arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.
