August 24

Deputies responded to N. Old Reidsville Rd. in reference to a drunk man urinating on the porch. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the man does not live at the residence and the owners don’t know him. Offender had slurred speech and could not stand without falling and was arrested for public drunk and transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputies responded to Bird Flanders Rd. in reference to complainant stating she let her granddaughter use her car to go to work and wanted her to bring it back. C/p advised she wanted a report in case her granddaughter didn’t bring it back.

August 25

Report was made in reference to a follow-up in reference to an ongoing investigation concerning complainant and offender. C/p stated she discovered offender hacked into several of her accounts including Cashapp, Venmo, Email, Facebook, and Instagram.

Deputies responded to Hwy 1 North in reference to niece/victim’s ex-boyfriend hacking into her Live 360 to find victim’s location and tried to upgrade it to the gold version to have better location pinpoint. C/p stated she knows it was offender due to the request coming from victim’s account when she was right in front of her when it happened. Offender was arrested at a different location due to this incident and prior incidents.

August 26

Deputies responded to Hwy 23 North in Garfield in reference to a welfare check. Dispatch advised they received an emergency crash alert from the location and upon making contact with a female, she was screaming the number ‘45’ several times and the line got disconnected. Upon arrival, units discovered offender in the backyard holding a toddler. Upon making contact, with the female/offender who was very hysterical, she advised her husband was trying to kill her. Deputies observed offender pass out and called for EMS and offender started talking gibberish and seeing things around her. Deputies then observed signs of possible narcotic use as offender kept rambling on and falling to the ground, at which point she stripped off her clothing in the backyard and continued screaming. Offender then took off running toward the roadway and deputy’s vehicle, snatching on the doors in attempt to get in. Deputies were then able to restrain offender and take her into protective custody and transported to EmCo Jail. Deputy made contact with the child’s father through the grandparents and released the child into their custody. Child’s father gave consent via phone to search his truck that was running in the yard with the driver door open and advised offender was not on any prescribed medication but does smoke marijuana sometimes.

August 27

Investigator observed a vehicle on Hwy 57 without a functioning tag light, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver pulled over and immediately exited the vehicle and approached Inv. and was instructed to remain seated in his vehicle. Driver appeared confused and asked if I wanted him to sit on the ground. Inv. then performed a terry frisk for weapons and had offender return to his vehicle. While speaking with offender, Inv. detected a strong odor of marijuana and a faint smell of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Offender provided his driver license, and Inv. explained the reason for the stop. Inv. asked offender about his alcohol consumption, and he stated he drank one earlier. Inv. then asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and he admitted to having a small amount on his person and handed it to Inv. Offender was then advised that his vehicle would be searched and had the passengers exit the vehicle. Inv. asked offender to perform field sobriety tests, and he agreed. During the search, deputies discovered another clear bag of marijuana under the passenger seat and the passenger claimed ownership of the bag. Offender was transported to EMC to collect a blood sample but due to the delay in medical staff assistance, offender was not charged with DUI. He was cited for failure to exercise due care, tag light requirements, no insurance and possession of marijuana less than ounce.

August 29

Report was made in reference to assisting SPD with a vehicle chase that would later lead to further investigation of the vehicle being reported stolen in the area of Oak Grove Chapel Rd. and Red Bud Rd. Alleged suspect who was reported to be in possession of the vehicle fled on foot from responding units upon crashing the vehicle.

Complainant called ECSO and stated she had not heard from her brother in about four months and the last time she talked to him he was in Clearwater or Tampa, FL, and it’s not like him not to check in with her. Investigator stated he would check through TLO.

August 30

Deputies were dispatched to Canoochee Rd. where complainant stated he placed an order at Domino’s, and it was never delivered. Another deputy went to Domino’s and the manager let him see the system that showed orders for the night and c/p’s phone number nor address were in the system. C/p stated the money had been taken out of his account and he was advised that would have to go through civil court.

August 31

Deputies responded to Hwy 1 North where complainant stated she was there due to her brother having her check on a storage unit of his deceased brother’s car being in there. Noone was to go in the storage unit until they were done with the courts but the car had been removed by deceased brother’s girlfriend and towed to a Deer Creek Dr. address. C/p stated you could see where the lock had been cut from the storage unit. C/p was advised this would be a civil matter.

September 1

Deputies responded to Cowford Bridge Rd. in reference to complainant stating a man from down the road was shooting and a couple of shots hit in their yard.

Deputies responded to Marlynn Dr. in reference to complainant stating he cut down some tree branches about four days prior and when he got home, his refrigerators were knocked over. C/p stated his neighbor that lives on adjoining property got upset about three branches and started an argument.
