Wilson Howell receives Kindness Award

Posted

Several years ago a donor contacted the Head of School at David Emanuel about promoting kindness on campus. Through their generosity we are able to recognize one student at our monthly All School Chapel service who was caught in an act of kindness. Teachers nominate students through the month and one person is chosen from the stories.

At our All School Chapel service in September, third grader, Wilson Howell was recognized. He is truly one of the best boys we know. He always has a smile, a hug, a helping hand and a joke. He takes his jobs seriously and works hard to be a good student and flock tender. This year, Wilson has taken on the job of waterboy for our football teams. The boys lovingly call him, "Coach Wilson" and enjoy having him as their "hydration specialist".

The teacher who submitted Wilson said that he noticed she wasn't feeling well, made a trip to the office to get her some medicine and made sure she had her water too. He went the extra mile when he noticed that the teacher needed some TLC.

That story is not unusual for Wilson. He is always looking to lend a helping hand. DEA is thankful for Coach Wilson and the joy he shares! Congratulations!
