Southeastern Technical College (STC) has awarded a number of student scholarships through the STC Foundation. Thirty-two students received scholarships as the STC Foundation continues to bolster student financial aid support.

“On behalf of the Southeastern Technical College Foundation, it is an honor to award scholarships to these very deserving students. Through the generosity of our Foundation donors, our scholarship recipients receive a boost to continue in their programs of study on their paths to successful careers,” said Blythe Wilcox, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. “Congratulations to all the Fall 2024 scholarship recipients! Other scholarships are awarded throughout the year.”

The following students from Emanuel County have been awarded scholarships for the Fall 2024 semester: Yadira Demillon - Memorial Health Meadows Hospital Scholarship; Abigail Goodman - Part-Time Student Scholarship; Melanie Purcell - General Scholarship; Mercedes Williams - Shot and Jean Strange Scholarship; Takayla Williams - General Scholarship; Zaren Williford - Memorial Health Meadows Hospital Scholarship.

“The STC Foundation would like to thank our donors who make these scholarships possible. Not only are they helping STC students achieve their goals, but they are also helping to create a more skilled workforce for our local communities,” said Wilcox.

The mission of the STC Foundation is to partner with donors to support and invest in the students, faculty, and staff at STC, with the primary funding for the scholarships coming from donors. To meet the increasing needs for higher education, resources such as scholarship support are necessary for many students to continue their education.

“We are exceptionally proud that STC donors also include 100% participation from our STC employees giving to the Foundation campaign for well over 15 years,” said Wilcox.

Students will be recognized at a scholarship banquet in February. The annual STC Foundation Appreciation BBQ each October and the STC Scholarship Banquet in February give students opportunities to meet Foundation donors, Foundation trustees, and community leaders.

The Foundation’s 2024 campaign has so far raised $285,000 this year. The Foundation hopes to increase that total to assist more students.
