September 30
Officer was called by complainant who stated that his truck had been hit and the person left. He stated it had been a few days since it happened, but his insurance needed a report. He stated that he was at Enmarket and when returning to his vehicle he saw the damage. He tried to check the cameras but the cameras were not working at the time of the incident.
October 11
Officer was notified to make contact with an individual at South Main Street in reference to found property. C/p advised that he found the listed property scattered in the parking lot and bagged it. Officer recovered the property and placed it into evidence for safe keeping.
Officer was notified to respond to a residence on Pine Needle Road in reference to property damage. C/p advised that the offender hit the power line and snapped the line in half and c/p did not want to be responsible for it. Offender advised that his company was moving trees from a vacant lot next to the residence and the line was hit.
911 dispatched officers to South Racetrack Street in reference to a physical altercation that had already occurred. 911 advised that the offender had already left the scene but was unsure if it was on foot or in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officer noticed that the front door of the residence was open and went to attempt to make contact with the victim. No one appeared to be inside of the house. A man came from the back of the residence and stated that the aggressor hit him in the head with a house brick and left walking. EMS arrived on scene and tended to the victim’s wounds. Offender was located and was placed under arrest.
Officers responded to a call on Joy Lane in reference to a physical altercation in progress between two brothers. C/p stated that his brother grabbed him by the throat, and that they both were intoxicated. He did not wish to press charges. The offender was later found on the scene and was refusing to comply with officers. This led to officers issuing a taser on offender in attempt to place him under arrest. Both prongs did not hit the offender so he proceeded to go into the residence and officers followed. Offender seemed as if he was going to get violent with officers and was eventually detained and arrested.
Officer was dispatched to North Racetrack Street in reference to a burglary that had already occurred. The victim stated that she arrived home from work and received a phone call that he apartment had been broken into. Officer viewed surveillance footage and were able to identify one of the offenders.
October 12
Officer was called to West Church Street to perform field sobriety tests on a male subject. There was an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the offender and he was not able to follow directions during the test. Offender was arrested for DUI.
911 dispatched officers to respond to the area west of Dollar General on West Main Street. C/p stated that the offender stole items from the store and the items were located in his backpack. Offender was located and admitted to stealing items. He was released on citations and a criminal trespass warrant was issued.
Officer was dispatched to the area of King Circle Drive in reference to a male running down the road. 911 advised that the call continued to drop. Upon arrival, officer was approached by a woman walking out of her residence. She stated that the offender took her phone and broke it. Officer advised her that the offender was probably going to jail due to the numerous times officers have been to the residence. Both were placed under arrest for disorderly house.
October 13
Officer was dispatched to Dawson Street in reference to an entering auto that had taken place the night before. C/p stated that she left her car there overnight in order to attend a party and believed that she had locked it. She stated that she went to retrieve her car and noticed come of her belongings were missing.
Officer responded to North Anderson Drive for report of theft from a vehicle. C/p stated that he left his vehicle doors unlocked when he went inside and was told that a guy with tattoos on his face was seen around his vehicle. He started getting messages that his card was being used.
Officers were dispatched to Popeyes in reference to a customer that threatened c/p with voodoo. After leaving, her mother returned wanting to replace her breast for a leg. When the employee refused to change it out, the unknown woman held her hand out and blew in it and stated that her life would never be the same.
911 dispatched officers to the parking lot of McDonald’s in reference to a man walking around the parking lot and hitting a vehicle. There was a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming off of the offender and he was arrested for public intoxication.
Officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to an entering auto call. C/p stated that he and his wife had been staying in a bed and breakfast because their power was still out and when he woke up the next morning they went and saw his father who was not doing so well. A few hours later, his father passed and they went home to get their vehicle and noticed things had been moved around in it. There was money and a firearm missing.
Officer was dispatched to Domino’s in reference to a man being dropped off at the restaurant and not knowing where he was. The man was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
Officers were dispatched to North Green Street in reference to two men sounding like they were having an altercation and could get physical. 911 advised that they possibly have a knife. Upon arrival, officer observed only two individuals, one been a witness who heard the commotion. The victim stated that he was standing in front of the house when the offender walked up and began using vulgar and irate language towards him.
October 14
Officer was dispatched to North Main Street in reference to someone being given the wrong change back. C/p stated that the offender redeemed a ticket from the slot machine and was given a part of the amount and told her to come back the next day for the remaining amount. the offender returned to the store to redeem the money and more she had won and the clerk gave her extra not knowing she had already claimed the larger part of her first winnings.
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a male coming into the store and was trespassing and threatening an employee. Officer was met by the victim and the manager of the store. The victim stated that the offender had been sending him threatening text messages. Offender was criminally trespassed from the store.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no insurance and expired registration. The driver did not have her license on her. Vehicle was towed.
Officer was dispatched to Lakeside Rest Home on Crump Street in reference to an altercation between two residents. C/p stated that one resident struck the other in the top of his head.
Officer was on B Lee Street and heard people arguing. When passing a residence, he observed several adults and a minor child on the front porch. When backup arrived, the offender started yelling at police and was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Officer observed a driver know to have a suspended driver’s license driving down North Coleman Street. Driver was released on a citation.
Officer observed a vehicle with a taillight out and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to not have a valid driver’s license and was issued a citation.
911 dispatched officers to North Green Street in reference to an unwanted person. C/p stated that the offender has been harassing her. They had an argument and later the offender arrived with several males in the vehicle, later attempting to provoke violence.
October 15
Officers were dispatched to Marion Street in reference to a male calling 911. C/p approached the vehicle and stated to go to the residence. The offender had hit the victim in the mouth and the offender stated that it was an accident. Officer came outside and the offender was in handcuffs for a probation violation. He was charged with battery family violence and cruelty to children.
Officer responded to Roses in reference to a theft by taking. The loss prevention officer stated that the manager of the store had stolen $4,000+ in cash from the store.
October 16
A call came into SPD in reference to a vehicle being hit. C/p stated that a piece of metal was laying on the hood of his vehicle when he walked outside of his law firm.
Officer received a walk in report at SPD. C/p stated that she had a verbal disagreement with the offender because her son and other kids were playing outside of her apartment and the kids were arguing.
Officer made contact with c/p who stated that she is the property manager of Latitude 105. She said that there was a vehicle occupied by three males that kept coming and hanging out in the parking lot smoking marijuana. They had been asked to leave on different occasions but continued to return to the parking lot.
911 dispatched officers to McDonald’s in reference to an irate customer. C/p stated that the offender was in the bathroom and had come in to place multiple orders and got angry stating that they overcharged him. He also got loud with customers in the store. He was asked to leave and a criminal trespass warrant was issued. The offender stated that he did not get one of his orders, so it was given to him.
October 17
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a theft that had taken place. C/p stated that he and a group of people were grilling and having drinks outside of the location. He stated that an unknown male that was involved in the get together got aggressive with him so he went to his room. He stated that when he got up the next morning his bluetooth speaker was missing.
Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a walk in report. C/p stated that he is president-manager at a company and a possible fraudulent check came through their account.
Officer responded to North Main Street in reference to a debit card being left in an ATM. Officer obtained the debit card for safekeeping.
Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with a headlight out. Officer noticed a faint odor of marijuana when approaching the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana in the car and was released on citations.
