They defeated Portal in their first region contest 12-0 in four innings and took care of Montgomery County in five innings 8-0.

The Lady Dawgs had two region games against McIntosh Co. and Jenkins Co. postponed due to weather and are hoping to get games in this week as the forecast looks clear the rest of the week. In the game against Portal, the Bulldogs used seven singles by seven different batters to defeat the Eagles 12-0 in four innings. Getting singles in the game were Jayna Kearson, Kayanna Thompson, Mary Durden, Asia Gibbons, Kinley Grimes, Dot Russell and Briley Womack. Freshman Mary Durden stood in the circle and no-hit the Panthers, allowing just one walk in the game while striking out four.

The Bulldogs’ second region contest was in Mt. Vernon to take on Montgomery County, blanking the Eagles 8-0 in five innings. Durden, pitching most of the games this season at 12, toed the rubber for the Lady Dawgs, allowing just two hits while striking out five Eagle batters. Leading hitter for the game was Jayna Kearson, including a triple. Dot Russell hit the team’s first homerun of the season in the second inning to put the Bulldogs up 3-0.
