Mr. Darius Tayshown Johnson, age 31, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Mosley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bridgette Hall officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Anthony Ognedeski, Shermane Mills, Wesley Moore, ZyTavious Moore, Kenneth Moore, and Stephen Scott.
Mr. Johnson was born August 15, 1991, to Michelle Moore and Santonio Moore. He was a graduate of Swainsboro High School Class of 2009. Darius was a member of the SHS Tiger Football team for four years and participated in JROTC for four years. He also participated in track, winning a championship ring in his sophomore year of high school. Darius loved sports and often encouraged his nephews and other children to get involved. He always told them to give their best. After high school, Darius furthered his education in Selma, AL. He was currently attending Southeastern Technical College and was excelling. Darius’ goals were to become a special education teacher and coach.
Mr. Johnson leaves his legacy with his parents; maternal grandmother, Jewette Starnes; auntie, Shemekia Starnes; sisters, Latiba Woods, Alexandria Johnson and Kizzy Johnson; brother, Shown Johnson; nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
