The Sunshine House Child Abuse Prevention door decorating contest

National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. In honor of helping stand with us to build hopeful futures, some of the classrooms of Emanuel County Early Head Start and Swainsboro Primary School participated in a door decorating contest for Child Abuse Prevention month in April. A vote was taken, and the winner was announced on April 30, 2024. All classrooms who participated received a visit from Shine, The Sunshine House mascot. Winners of the contest from Early Head Start were the classrooms of Jack Cross and Teresa Akridge and Keona Rogers and Nicole Kersey. First grade winners were Mia King and Melissa Hampton and Almeatta Durden and Melissa Hampton. Kindergarten winner was Nickole Braswell and Lakeisha Sherrod. An ice cream party was provided for the winning classrooms. The Sunshine House would like to thank SPS and EHS for participating in this fun contest!!
