This year’s “Shop with a Cop” event was held Tuesday, December 12. The event began at 6 p.m. at Swainsboro-Emanuel County Auditorium with a brief introduction on plans for the evening. Children were then given a blue-light escort through town with sirens sounding to add to the excitement before arriving at Swainsboro Walmart to shop with his or her designated officer.
Participating agencies for this year’s event included Swainsboro Police Department, program host; Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, Stillmore, Twin City and East Georgia State College Police Departments, Department of Juvenile Justice, State Probation, Emanuel County 9-1-1 Center and Georgia State Patrol troopers.
