Second annual Emanuel Chopped Jr. Advanced comes to an end

Family Connection conducted their second week-long cooking camp called "Emanuel Chopped Jr. Advanced". This was for students in third through fifth grade that attended the camp the previous summer. Sixteen students participated in the camp to learn advanced cooking skills, nutrition facts, and more intense competition with fellow chefs.

Family Connection is able to put on this fun summer camp for students with funding from the Mill Creek Foundation, Aetna/CVS Health, and donated space from the Franklin Memorial Library. The Family Connection Collaborative partners volunteered many hours for students to have the opportunity to taste new foods and prepare challenging recipes.

Thanks to Pam Carr, and Sondra Fortner for assisting the chefs as they prepared their culinary creations, and to Wanda Ellis and Candis Joiner for being additional helpers. A special thank you to Kate Stolzfus from Leanna's for judging the students' cheesecakes.
