Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Marie Greenway Coglin, age

93, of Midville, on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 6, at 2 p.m. in the Union Grove United

Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Carnley officiating. The family received friends Monday, December 6, at the Union Grove Methodist Church one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in the Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dale Greenway, Roger Hooks, R. W. Hooks, Butch Frye, Sonny Hurst, and

Joey Burch. Honorary Escorts were Tony Greenway, Linwood Hooks, Rodney Beckworth, Howard

Franklin, Earl Brantley, Johnny Hurst, Jamie Oglesby, and Chris Carr.

Mrs. Marie was born August 3, 1928, in Summertown, to the late Thomas and Hattie Joiner Greenway. She was retired from the State Department of Mental Health. Mrs. Coglin was a lifelong member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother; her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coglin is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Buddy” Coglin; sisters, Norma, Louise and Jeanette; brothers, Troy, Warren, Rufus, Edward, Walter, and Fed.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Coglin of Midville, Mary Alexander of Macon, Linda Saunders (Horace) of Midville, and Peggy Landaverde of Midville; grandchildren, H.A. Saunders, John Alexander (Tracey), Bill Farrow (Kim), Dustin Carter (Heather), and Santana Mincey; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
