Keep Emanuel Beautiful plans a “beautiful fall”

Posted

The Keep Emanuel Beautiful organization met on Tuesday, September 19, to plan activities for the remainder of 2023 and beyond. We appreciate the support of the Emanuel County Commissioners and the help of Commissioner Jim Sherrod and County Clerk Stacy Scarboro who were in attendance at last week’s meeting. Coming up in future, will be a repeat of a successful event from last year. Keep Emanuel Beautiful will join in to help with the Tire Amnesty Day sponsored by the Emanuel County Commissioners. Tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 18, at the Emanuel County Transfer station, KEB volunteers will help with the event which accepts used passenger car tires and light duty pickup truck tires for disposal at no charge. Organized trash pick-up days are being planned for various fall weekends as well. “Hot Spots” are being identified for special pick-up days for especially notorious litter-problem areas. Other events on the calendar will feature the introduction of new KEB mascot “Uncle Birdy” to the community. We’re not sure exactly what kind of bird “Uncle Birdy” is, but we know he is bitter on litter, and he looks forward to meeting kids and adults in our community who are ready to help keep Emanuel County clean and green. Keep a lookout for more news on upcoming events soon, and remember to stash your trash and Keep Emanuel Beautiful!
