First appearance held for Dixon Tuesday afternoon

A first appearance hearing was held for Johnnie Lee Dixon, Jr, 35, of Swainsboro, on Tuesday, September 5, at 2:44 p.m., before honorable Judge Reeves in the Emanuel County Superior Courtroom. During his hearing, Dixon was charged with breaking and entering a residence on Glenwood Road in Swainsboro by shooting through the front door with a shotgun while residents were inside the home, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon x2, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at a residence on Harrison Drive in Swainsboro. This is still an ongoing case with possibly more charges pending. No bail or bond was set during the hearing.

After Dixon was read his charges and rights, he was asked if he understood what he was being charged with to which he replied, “Not quite,” and preceded to state that he was under the influence of alcohol and pills that night and only remembers waking up in the hospital and being told that he was being charged with aggravated assault.
