Mr. Darrel Eugene “Doug” Hidlebaugh, Sr., 79, of Swainsboro, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro.
Darrel was born July 10, 1945, in Muscatine, Iowa, to the late John Hidlebaugh and Thelma Howard Hidlebaugh. Mr. Hidlebaugh is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Bradford; and great-granddaughter, Kayce Lynn Henry.
Mr. Hidlebaugh is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen A. Hidlebaugh of Swainsboro; son, Darrel Hidlebaugh, Jr. (Bonnie Chavis) of Swainsboro; daughter, Julie Hidlebaugh (Joseph Hightower) of Swainsboro; brother, John Hidlebaugh, Jr. (Dixie) of Marion, IA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside service will be held Friday, October 25, at 1 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville with Mr. Bill Kennedy officiating. Family will receive friends Thursday, October 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
