The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office joined in an investigation which concluded this Thursday morning, June 29, 2023. Deputies made a traffic stop on Jackie Cooper just south of Kite in Johnson County. Cooper, 67, of Kite, was arrested and charged with several drug offenses including trafficking a schedule II-controlled substance. Cooper was also charged with possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime. After the traffic stop, a search warrant was served on Cooper’s residence which yielded more schedule II-controlled substances and weapons. Cooper was booked into the Johnson County Jail.
