Emanuel County native, Jewell Donaldson, who lives 1 mile east of Twin City on Highway 80, woke to a surprise last week when she saw that her century plant had bloomed. Known as Agave Americana, the Jurassic like plant only blooms once every 100 years thus the reason why it’s called a “Century Plant.” To see one in-bloom is truly something special.
