On Friday, June 28, 2024, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on the residence of Rodney Wilson. The following day, Saturday, June 29, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, Swainsboro Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) served search warrants on all of Wilson’s commercial properties. Seized in the searches were a large number of firearms and financial records. The processing of this seizure and the completion of Wilson’s charges will take several weeks.
As of now, Wilson is charged with possession of firearms with an altered serial number, possession of sawed-off shotguns, possession of stolen firearms, aggravated assault and RICO (Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations Act).
This is a brief overview, as the processing of evidence and charges will be very time consuming.
A first appearance hearing was held Monday, July 1. Wilson was denied bond.
