Twin City Lions Club installs officers

Posted

The Twin City Lions Club recently held their annual officer’s installation and Ladies’ Night meeting. The meeting was held at the Lions Clubhouse in Twin City which has almost been to-tally remodeled in the last few years. Members invited their spouses or other family members to join them at this annual tradition of the club. Papa Bucks in Metter provided the delicious meal for the club. The catered meal was savory beef brisket along with grilled chicken leg quar-ters, a potato bar with all the trimmings, salad, and banana pudding. Papa Bucks’ founder was Von Johnson who was a longtime member of the Lions Club, and we were more than hap-py to support the business he started. Highlights of the previous year were reviewed with all the attendings including John William Turner being elected to the Lions Club Hall of Fame, Mr. Turner and Loy D Cowart being presented their 60th anniversary membership pins and all the various organizations, causes and scholarships the club donated money to in the past year. The club appreciates all the support the community provides by supporting the fall and spring pancake supper and by buying the annual Community Calendar. These fundraisers, along with clubhouse rentals, are the primary way we raise money to give back to the commu-nity. The Lions Club has been serving the Twin City area since 1964.
