Willie Elijah (Doug) Harden, age 84, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Scott’s Nursing Home following an extended illness. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at Love in Action Worship Center with Pastor Willie Harden Jr. officiating and Pastor Jeanette Harden presiding.
Mr. Harden was born March 14, 1939, to the late Willie Lee and Elder Ruby Harden. He was the eldest of twelve siblings. Mr. Harden is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia; sister-in-law, Geneva Harden.
Mr. Harden leaves to cherish his memories with his former wife, Mattie Mae; daughters, Debra Ann, Antoinette, both of Augusta, and Ray of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Estella McGlawn of Hephzibah, Carolyn Stephens, Wylene Woods and Carnita Brown, all of Swainsboro; brothers, James Harden (Gloria) of Hampton, VA, Pastor Willie Harden Jr. (Joyce), Anthony Ray Harden (Jeanette), Willis Harmon (Mamie) and Darrell Thomas (Teresa), all of Swainsboro; sisters-in-law, Georgianna Harden of Asbury Park, NJ and Cheryl Harden of Swainsboro; a host of grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
