Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

April 26

Officer met with complainant in reference to an altercation that took place at Mike’s Food Mart.

April 27

Officer was dispatched to D&I Food Mart in reference to a theft.

April 28

Officer responded to WalMart in reference to a shoplifter. Offender tried to walk out of the store and the officer gave her multiple verbal commands to stop and offender refused by running away from officers. The merchandise was recovered totaling $754.26. Offender gave false name/false info and upon further investigation, it was determined that offender has multiple warrants from surrounding counties. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to W. Main St. for an unwanted male. The male subject was under the influence and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer observed a vehicle with no tag lights, at which time he made a traffic stop. Offender gave false info to officer and upon further investigation, it was determined that offender has suspended/revoked license. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

April 29

Officer observed a vehicle with a tail light out, at which time he made a traffic stop. It was determined that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and the registration is suspended. The vehicle was towed.

April 30

Officer observed a vehicle without a headlight, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender had an active parole warrant but parole did not want a hold placed on offender. It was known that one passenger had an active warrant and the issuing agency wanted a hold placed on him. Two offenders transported to EmCo Jail.

Officers were dispatched to Youngblood St. in reference to shots being fired. Complainant advised that his wife was being charged at by four bulldogs and he fired shots.

Officer observed a vehicle recklessly spin on the road at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender then accelerated and attempted to flee, reaching 100 MPH on Hwy 56 North. Offender reached speeds of 130 to 140 MPH. Offender was blocked in just before entering Burke Co. and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officers were dispatched to Peebles St. in reference to a dispute with threats of violence.

Officer was dispatched to Kite Rd. in reference to harassment.

Officer was dispatched to Braswell Blvd. in reference to a civil dispute over an ATV.

May 1

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report where complainant stated offender and her mother went to her residence acting like they wanted to talk to her and instead of talking, offender punched her in the face and a fight started.

Officer met with complainant/victim in reference to someone being irate towards her.

Officers were dispatched to Center St. in reference to an overdose. One male was in the EMS unit unresponsive and the other male was in the back passenger seat of the vehicle unresponsive. Another EMS arrived and the patient was secured to the stretcher and loaded in the EMS unit. Narcan was given with no effect. Both EMS units were leaving to be enroute to EMC ER. Officer heard a medic struggling in the back of the EMS unit to find the patient fighting with her and trying to get out. Officer jumped in to help her and was bit by offender/patient. Officer detained offender and rode with EMS to EMC.

Officer observed a male subject driving that was known to have an active probation warrant. Officer verified that the warrant had not been served and made contact with offender. Offender kept asking for them not to lock him up and stated he wanted to talk to his father on the phone. Offender stated he had a small amount of marijuana on him. After searching offender, a white rock substance and a glass pipe was found. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer met with complainant at Mojo’s Express where she advised she was having problems with some females. C/p stated two females went to her residence looking for her and have been calling her multiple times and they went to her work to get their car washed and they started cussing at her. C/p stated she does not know the females and has only seen the one time.

May 2

Officers were dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a shoplifter. C/p stated offender was in the store with a male and the male paid for their items and the female got two coffees and a biscuit and left the store without paying and she wants offender trespassed from Enmarket. Officer ran a criminal history on offender and found that she has three prior shoplifting convictions. Officer found out where offender was at later in the day and made an arrest and transported her to EmCo Jail.

Officer noticed offender sitting in the vehicle with his head down so he made contact to check on him. Officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked offender about it and he stated it was CBD which is legal. Officer hen asked for the original container and offender stated he did not have one so officer asked him to step out of the vehicle. Offender then stated that he wasn’t going to lie anymore and handed officer a clear plastic bag filled with marijuana. Offender was placed under arrest and issued a citation.

Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a report where complainant stated he was walking down N. Coleman St. and a dog ran from a tire shop and bit him.

Officer responded to N. Central St. in reference to damaged property.

Officer’s tag reader alerted that a vehicle tag was expired. Officer verified that info and found out that it had been expired since 9/18/22, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender advised that he was just pulled over in Toombs Co. and stated that he just bought the vehicle from his brother, but the vehicle was registered to someone else. Officer could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle and observed a three-inch straw in the center console. Officer then asked offender to step out of the vehicle and asked how much he had to drink and he stated none but officer could smell alcohol coming from his person. Officer asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and he stated no but the passenger had just bought wine coolers. Officer then asked if he could search the vehicle and offender hesitated then gave consent. During the search, a glass pipe, a gallon zip-lock bag containing cocaine, a bag of marijuana, and six bags of meth were located. Both offenders advised the drugs were not theirs and were transported to EmCo Jail.

May 3

Officers were dispatched to Norwood Ave. in reference to a theft by taking and it was found that a burglary had taken place. Complainant advised his ex-girlfriend broke into his house and stated he tried to contact her but she refused to give his items back.

Officers responded to EMC ER in reference to a call regarding a 10-13 patient that busted through the glass entry door of the ER and reportedly assaulted a security guard.

May 4

Officers were dispatched to Alice Cir. in reference to complainant’s daughter locking herself in that bathroom and refusing to come out. C/p stated offender was cussing out the other children when they attempted to use the bathroom. Officers went inside and opened the bathroom door and advised offender why they had been called and that she had been locked in the bathroom for hours and she shut the door in their face. C/p opened the door and offender shut it in her face. Officer then opened the door and advised offender to come out and she ignored him and refused to speak. Offender then pulled her phone out and began making calls and was advised to comply with officers or she could be charged with failure to comply and possibly other charges. Offender continued to ignore officers and jumped up and starting cussing at officers and stormed out the front door. Offender was advised she was being charged with disorderly conduct and began fighting with officers and cussing and threatening the child aged siblings. Once offender was at EmCo Jail, she cussed the jail staff and fought with them.

Officer responded to Easy Stop in reference to an employee calling 911 stating they found illegal drugs on the floor next to the counter. Officers watched the surveillance video and identified the offender and found the substance to be meth.

Officer noticed a vehicle that had bullet holes on the driver’s side. He ran the tag to find that the driver had revoked license. Upon offender exiting the vehicle, officer waited on him to come out of the store and made contact with him. Officer informed offender he was under arrest for driving with revoked license.

May 5

Officer noticed offender walk up to some people in the parking lot and overheard the people tell him to leave them alone, that they didn’t have anything for him. Officer made contact with offender and asked what he was doing and he stated he was trying to get a ride. Officer asked offender if he had a pipe on him and he reached in his pocket and pulled it out. Offender was cited for having a drug related object and advised that he has to appear in court in July.
