Shelia Scott Howard, age 51, of Swainsboro, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023. A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at The Greater St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Adams Jr. presiding. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Shelia was born April 29, 1972, in Swainsboro, to the late Jimmy Scott and Bertha O. Moore. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and friend. Shelia’s days were spent gardening, decorating, exchanging laughter, and preparing delicious meals. She had an amazing smile and caring personality. Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Alvin Owens.
Mrs. Howard leaves to cherish her memories with her husband of 19 years, Leonard Howard Jr. of Swainsboro; sons, Jacquez (Bianca) Scott of Baltimore, MD, Keanu Warren and Shekinah Scott, both of Savannah; daughter, Zakkia Jones of Swainsboro; stepdaughter, Myhisha Howard of North Augusta, SC; sister, Angela Scott of Augusta; brothers, Donald B. Owens of Augusta, Corey Scott and Benjamin Scott, both of Swainsboro, Greg Scott and Todd Scott, both of LaGrange; special friend, Meisha (Frank) Shedrick of Swainsboro; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
