Second-grade students at TCE learn about fire safety

Posted

The second-grade students at Twin City Elementary School recently learned all about fire safety. They read the story, "Firefighters at Work," and on Thursday, August 17, Mr. Robert Telgen of the Twin City Fire Department visited the classes. He taught them all about home fire safety and how to work the features of the fire truck. He also answered many questions students had about how much water the fire truck could hold.

Some classes also had a visitor from the 911 Administration Office, Ms. Crystal Guest! On Friday, August 18, Smokey the Bear and the Forestry Commission even visited to teach the students how to prevent forest fires! Students learned how the Forestry Commission puts out fires in different states and how they use helicopters and airplanes to fight fires.
