Robert Lamb, 78, of Savannah and Garfield, passed away July 4, 2023. Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at the Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Savannah. The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Private interment was in the Coleman-Twin City Cemetery.

Bob was born on August 21, 1944, in Savannah. Despite a birth trauma, he graduated from Savannah High School and worked at various jobs in the Savannah area. His main happiness was found at his maternal grandmother's house in Garfield. Bob was a member of the Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Savannah where he made many friends. He was a devoted and loving son. Bob cared for his parents until their deaths in the early 2000's. He lived his last years in the Savannah area where he helped others in need. Bob loved books and visiting the Savannah Public Library. Following his thirst for knowledge, he explored many different subjects. Bob had a "gung-ho" attitude and was willing to try many different things. Loving to travel, he drove across the country once and visited family in all corners of the country.

Mr. Lamb is survived by his brother, Jerry Coleman Lamb (Cynthia) of St. Simons Island; sister, Belva Carole Lamb of Southern Oregon; nieces and nephews, Julie McCray of Berkley, California, David Lamb of Portland, Oregon, Michael Lamb of San Jose, California, and Carilee Berg of Southborough, Massachusetts; along with numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family would like to thank the Howards and the Smalls for their incredible friendship and devotion to Bob. They greatly improved his quality of life, before and after his illness. He also valued his friendships with Robert Smith and Ross Harrison. Dr. John Odom was instrumental in Bob surviving as long as he did, and Hospice of Savannah treated him with the highest degree of caring.
