On Monday March 7, Timothy Alan Oliver placed his bid of interest to serve as District 5 representative on the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners. He is a lifelong resident of Emanuel County and has called Twin City home his entire life. Oliver married his wife, Tiffany Clifton Oliver, in 2004. Together, they have four children, Gunnar, Kanyon, Blaise and Stetson. Oliver is one of three owners/operators of a multi-state textile manufacturing business, Stitch-N-Print, Inc. He has held ownership in the flourishing company since 2005. His role in leadership for the company has brought many accolades, including recognition from The Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce as the 2009 Large Business of the Year and being featured as a future-leader nominee in the 2017 Emanuel County 20 Under 40 publication of The Forest-Blade.

The candidate officially announced his intent to run for office in September 2021. Since announcing his intent for office, Oliver has performed light campaigning, but plans to promote his platform much more after completing qualifications this past Monday.

“For A Better Tomorrow Starts Today. I am a Conservative republican candidate who supports a common sense approach to everyday lives. As a business owner, I have learned that it takes having a 360-degree vision when addressing issues and promoting overall success. My goal, if elected, is to bring that same vision of leadership to serve the good people of Emanuel County as a commission board member,” Oliver says.

Oliver attended Emanuel County Schools and graduated from Emanuel County Institute (ECI) in 2000. A passion for sports, Oliver spent many years playing recreational sports at Twin City and Swainsboro recreational departments and later played on the varsity baseball and football teams at his hometown school. He has continued to pursue his passion for the “love of the game,” having served on the Twin City Recreation Department Advisory Board for several years in addition to coaching baseball, football, and softball recreation teams, including travel ball levels. Oliver also served as a volunteer on the Twin City Elementary School Council for many years.

A current-day board member of the Twin City Emanuel County Recreation Department, Oliver has continuously served as a chairperson for this board since his 2017 appointment. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter/first responder for Twin City and Emanuel County and has dedicatedly done so since 2015.

Oliver is excited and eager to speak with the citizens of Emanuel County to listen to their concerns and to share his visions, if elected to serve District 5 representative.
