Lena Mae Tillman Lewis, age 79, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023. A Homecoming Celebration was held Sunday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus with Bishop Willie Freeman officiating and Evangelist Alex Worthen presiding. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Lena Mae was born August 28, 1943, in Emanuel County, to the late Horace and Essie Tillman. She was employed with Keller Ladders for more than 30 years. Lena Mae was married to Ira Lewis. She was a dedicated member and faithful worker of Church of Jesus and was a true missionary of Christ. Lena Mae loved her family, church family and community. Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her parents; husband who passed away in 2011; daughter, Sheena Lewis; and son, Jerry Tillman.
Mrs. Lewis leaves to cherish her memories with her daughter, Pamela (Torris) Mitchell of Louisville; son, Kevin Tillman of Swainsboro; stepsons, Tony (Elaine) Lewis of Columbia, SC and Michael Stokes of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Geneva Brooks of Swainsboro and Adelle Scott of Wrightsville; grandson, Darryl Brown; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
