The Swainsboro Lady Tigers Flag Football team held their end-of-season banquet last Wednesday, the 18th, celebrating a year full of hard work, growth, and dedication. The night was all about recognizing the effort these young women put in both on the field and in the classroom.
At the JV level, Sara Smith and Kandis Smith earned Best Defense for their strong play. Paris Spann had a standout season, winning both Best Offense and MVP. Isis Trice and Bella Blanford were named Most Improved, showing how much they grew throughout the season. In the classroom, Sara Smith and Sydney Lively both earned Highest Academic honors with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Kali Brown received the Sportsmanship Award for her positive attitude and team-first mindset.
On the varsity side, Tramrya Brown was named Best Defense, while Millie Kingsberry earned Best Offense. Jordi Armstrong and Hayden Burke were both recognized as Most Improved. McKinley Walden had an impressive season, earning Rookie of the Year and the Silver Tiger Award for her all-around performance. Jalaya Freeman received the Gold Tiger Award as the team’s top all-around player.
Kylie Brown stood out both on and off the field, earning Highest Academic honors, the Captain Award, and sharing the Sportsmanship Award with Dazia Cuyler and Aacaylah Murphy.
The Lady Tigers also earned several area honors. McKinley Walden was named Area Defensive Player of the Year. Jalaya Freeman made the All-Area 1st Team, while Kylie Brown and Tramrya Brown were named to the 2nd Team. Hayden Burke, Tameeyah Kingsberry, Aacaylah Murphy, and Jordi Armstrong received Honorable Mentions.
The evening also included a catered dinner by Ware’s BBQ, and the program would like to thank them for their service and for helping make the night special.
The banquet was a great way to celebrate the team’s success and recognize the effort each player gave this season. The future is bright for the Lady Tigers.
