"Kiwanis participate in Trunk or Treat"

"The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting, Tuesday night, November 1, 2022, at the Rustic Grille at 7:00.  With President Tammy Allen presiding, there were 20 in attendance.  The carrot cake, donated by Tracy Mason, was won by Tracy Mason.  The Domino's pizza, donated by Domino's Pizza was won by Tracy Mason.  Chair Petite Garrett spotlighted Kiwanis member Jim Clapham this week.  A native of New York, he has lived in the South for 25 years.  He and his wife Betty have been married 30 years and have 4 children.  Jim's hobbies include reading, traveling, gardening, and antiquing.  His favorite meal is beef stroganoff, and his favorite candy is York Peppermint Patty.  President Tammy announced the results of the Ferst Readers Character costume fundraiser, which raised over $11,000.00.  Kiwanians Tammy Allen, Petite Garrett, Scotty Hattaway, Windy Ward, and Pepper Fields were in the contest.  The winner was the Avocado (Bailey Creamer).  Chair Tim Goodman announced the Governor's Rally for Division 17 is scheduled for January 7, 2023, at noon at the Metter Elementary Complex.  Tim also covered some information from the District Fall Training session on October 22 in Braselton.  President Tammy announced that the Farm to School is planning a Farm Day at the Georgia Sports Arena on November 18, starting at 8:00 a.m.  Available will be demonstrations from milking a cow to the Georgia Southern Raptor presentation.  We will also be cooking popcorn for the event.  If you would like to become a member of our Club, please contact our membership Chair Jane Durden at 478-494-4113 or e-mail her at hsdurden@bellsouth.net.  Also, if you åwould like more information about our Club and the many community service projects that we do each year, go to our website:  http://www.swainsborokiwanis.org or to our Swainsboro Kiwanis Facebook page."
