Kiwanis installs 2024-25 officers and board

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, September 17, at the Rustic Grill at 7 p.m. With President Cheryl Goodman presiding, there were 24 in attendance, including eight guests, Oskar Cerpovicz, Joelle Romanchik-Cerpovicz, Past Lt. Governor Trish Tootle, Faye Ruarks, Betty Clapham, Austin Henry, Patti Tramontana and Jim Wedincamp. New President Paul Cerpovicz gave gifts from the club to out-going President Cheryl and Past Lt. Governor Trish Tootle. Tim Goodman won the Leannas cheesecake donated by President Cheryl, President Cheryl won the Domino’s Pizza donated by Domino's, Dianna Wedincamp, Dess Smith, Oskar Cerpovicz, Austin Henry, Travis Garrett, and Deana Patrick, Trish Tootle, Faye Ruarks and Edwin Canady won the plants used as table decorations, and Petite Garrett won the cardinal bird feeder. Tim gave Perfect Attendance Awards to himself and President Cheryl and presented Legion of Honor Awards to Dess Smith as a 25-Year Kiwanian and Gary Couse as a 30-Year Kiwanian. President Cheryl gave Certificates of Recognition to those that assisted with Franklin Library events and the Pre-K Fun Day, Windy Ward, Deana Patrick, Dess Smith, Tim Goodman and Gary Couse. She recognized the Public Relations team, Dess Smith, Mary Ellen Smith, Tim Goodman and Dwight Watt and the 2023-2024 officers. Past Lt. Governor Trish Tootle recognized the work done by the 2023-2024 board and installed the 2024-2025 board. The new directors are 1-Year Bobbie Daughtry, Cayla Scarboro, Dess Smith and Mary Ellen Smith; 2-Year Jeff Brewer, Petite Garrett, Jeff Palmer and Windy Ward; President Paul Cerpovicz, President-Elect Dianna Wedincamp, Vice President Dwight Watt, Immediate Past President Cheryl Goodman, Secretary Tim Goodman and Treasurer David Gribbin.
