Mrs. Ivy Michelle Kirby Jones, 41, of Nunez, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1982, in Swainsboro, to Wayne Keith Kirby and Jeannie Edenfield Kirby.

Mrs. Kirby is preceded in death by her father, Wayne Keith Kirby. Ivy was a daughter, mother, wife, gigi, aunt, and sister. She has gone to be with the good Lord and her daddy. She loved everything about her life, especially her friends and family. She was 100% genuine and what you saw was what you got. She was the type of person that would walk through fire with you. You could always count on her to come through for you even if you couldn’t do the same. She was always the loudest and brightest in any room that she was in. Her personality was infectious, and everyone was blessed to be in her presence. She loved to travel and attend arts and crafts festivals. There will never be enough words to explain how big of a hole she left in her family’s hearts. She will truly be missed and always loved.

She is survived by mother, Jeannie E Kirby of Swainsboro; husband, Justin Jones of Hazelhurst; sons, Brandon Akridge (Jada) of Swainsboro, Clayton Akridge, Ayden Rewis both of Hazelhurst; daughter, Harley Akridge of Swainsboro; brother, Patrick Kirby (Kristi) of Nunez; sister, Jeannie K Woods (Tony) of Swainsboro; paternal grandmother, Hazel Kirby of Nunez; 3 grandchildren; nephews, Rusty Woods, Anthony Woods; niece, Meagan Jaworski; and many friends.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Brad McKenzie officiating.

Interment followed in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bryan Akridge, Bo Akridge, Weslay Hutcheson, Bray Durden, Shannon Wilkerson, Anthony Woods, and Rusty Woods.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
