Johnson installed as Board Member of the Georgia Bankers Association

Wade Johnson, president and CEO of Durden Banking Company, Twin City, has been elected by his peers in central Georgia to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA).

“We are delighted to welcome Wade to the GBA board, and we look forward to benefiting from his wealth of experience and insight for the betterment of the industry and, most importantly, the communities, families and businesses that Georgia's banks serve,” said Brad E. Barber, GBA chairman and president and CEO of First National Bank in Bainbridge.

Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts in banking and finance from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia in 2003. He graduated from Georgia Banking School in 2010.

Johnson’s career began at Steve H. Powell & Company in Statesboro as a bank auditor. He joined Durden Banking Company in 2006. He was named president and CEO in January 2022 and serves on the bank’s board of directors.

Active in the community, Johnson serves as treasurer of the Swainsboro Rotary Club, member of the East Georgia State College Foundation, member of the Emanuel County Development Authority, member of the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, member of the FCA District board of directors, and as chairman of the Mill Creek Foundation.

Johnson and his family are members of Canoochee Missionary Baptist Church.
