David Emanuel Academy student-athlete Jayden Slater has officially solidified her future plans for the diamond. On Thursday, April 23, family and friends gathered in the DEA gymnasium to witness Slater sign her commitment to play softball for the South Georgia State College (SGSC) Hawks.
The signing ceremony marks a significant transition for Slater, who will move from the high school ranks to the collegiate level this coming season. By joining the Hawks' program in Douglas, she secures a spot within the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA).
The event at the DEA gym provided a moment for the school community to recognize the achievement of a student-athlete moving on to higher education and competitive sports. Clad in the colors of her future home, Slater celebrated the milestone alongside those who have watched her progress through the David Emanuel Academy athletic program. Congratulations Jayden!
