Mr. James Larry Hall, 75, of Swainsboro, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, in Augusta. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Henry and Reverend Rusty Moore officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Church Cemetery. The family received friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Monday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers were Joe Watson, Jake Hudson, Billy Carmichael, Terry Lamb, Joel Harrison and Asa Garrett.

Larry was born July 5, 1949, in Swainsboro, to the late Hoke and Burma Chapman Hall. He was retired from Custom Furniture. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. Larry enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with his loved ones, using birthdays and any holidays as a reason to bring everyone together. He had a calm and confident presence and a great "dry" sense of humor. Larry didn't laugh easily but when he did, it brought joy to all those around him. When he was a young man, he enjoyed the outdoors, often hunting and fishing on weekends. Larry had a great interest in American history. He was an avid reader, specifically about World War II and the American Civil War, amassing a small library on the subjects. Larry was a passionate sports fan and a loyal supporter of the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, and his beloved ECI Bulldogs. He loved to get together to watch a big game with a tailgate menu and never missed an ECI football game, either attending in person when his health permitted or listening on the radio. In 1988, Larry met the love of his life, Dianne. They married in 1997 and remained devoted to each other until his death. Larry gained three children in that marriage and his greatest legacy will be his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Gail Hall Pavlakos.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Hall; children, Tara Hudson, Sandi Harrison (Joel) and Brent Hudson (Alison); grandchildren, Sydney Herringdine (Austin Hunter), Jake Hudson and Anna Hudson; cousins, Joe and Linda Watson.

Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
