Hometown Public Servant: Kayleigh McVey

Posted

This week's Hometown Public Servant is Kayleigh McVey, officer with the Swainsboro Police Department.
Born and raised in Emanuel County, McVey is a native of the area. She credits her desire to serve the local public to those she loves most - her family and friends.
"I enjoy helping others and making a difference in the lives around me. I love serving the local community and the small-town feel that comes with it," McVey stated.
McVey is a patrolman for the Swainsboro Police Department, and has served in this capacity for three, going on four, months. Prior to being an employee with the City of Swainsboro, McVey worked at two other law enforcement agencies and did a stint with probation.
A Swainsboro High School graduate, McVey furthered her education by attending the Georgia Public Safety Training Center where she graduated as a law enforcement officer in 2017. She maintains her LEO degree by completing 20 hours of mandatory annual training in course topics like ALLERT and Crisis Intervention Training, etc.
When not on patrol, McVey enjoys spending her spare time getting lost in a good book or hanging out with family and friends.
