DEA Middle School Eagles jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Callie Mae grounded out, Blakely doubled to left field, and Weslee Fields singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
The Eagles scored nine runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Mary Bess singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Evie doubled, scoring two runs, Weslee grounded out, scoring one run, Brailey Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run, Lyndi Simmons drew a walk, scoring one run, and #9 induced Mary Bess to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Blakely earned the win for DEA. The righty allowed nine hits and nine runs (six earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking six. #9 took the loss for Metter Middle School. The hurler went five innings, giving up 18 runs (13 earned) on eight hits, striking out five and walking nine.
The Middle School Eagles amassed eight hits in the game. Callie Mae led DEA with four runs batted in. Evie and Blakely each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Logan Hammock paced DEA with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up nine walks for the games.
