Henry James Sutton, age 60, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023. A Celebration of Life and Legacy was held Sunday, August 13, at 2 p.m. at St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Moss officiating and Evangelist Alex Worthen presiding. Interment followed in Phillips Family Cemetery in Lexsy.
Henry was affectionately known as “Tiger” or “Big T” by many because he was an “OG”. He loved his family and wasn’t selfish when it came to helping them. Henry enjoyed racing and wouldn’t turn down the challenge when asked. Mr. Sutton is preceded in death by his father, Bennie Sutton; brothers, Varnell Sutton and Lagrant Hughes; and daughter, Christy Sutton.
Mr. Sutton leaves to cherish his memories with his mother, Betty Sutton (Levi) Smith of Nunez; wife, Carolyn Sutton of Stillmore; sons, Chris (Star) Kirkland of Swainsboro, Cordale (Ariel) Sutton of Statesboro and Jameson Sutton of Louisville; daughter, Katrisha Sutton (Quintin) Dukes of Swainsboro; sisters, Eva Collins of Swainsboro, Franchester Turner, Allison (Leo) Phillips, Ruby Sutton and Janice Sutton, all of Nunez; brothers, Bennie Sutton and Victor Sutton, both of Nunez and Jermaine Sutton of Swainsboro; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
