Grand jury returns 22 true bills

The January 2020 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury convened Tuesday, January 28, with The Honorable Kathy S. Palmer presiding. The district attorney’s office presented 22 bills of indictment to the grand jury, and the grand jury returned true bills for all cases. True bills were as follows:

Jaqun Damarquez Cheley — one count possession of methamphetamine, one count possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), and one count speeding.

Christopher Wayne Collins — one count theft by taking.

Jeffery Wade Aldrich — one count possession of illegal weapon.

William Coleman Jr. — one count theft by receiving stolen property.

Dustin Ryan Osborne — one count aggravated assault (family violence) and one count battery (family violence).

Trimiko Treymayne Lester — one count entering an automobile.

Christina Ann Bowen — four counts theft by taking.

Michael Leon Royal Jr. — one count aggravated sodomy.

Jeffrey Allen Taylor — one count possession a firearm by a first offender probationer.

Caley Nicole Cavanah and Joseph Seth Schrader — one count burglary in the second degree and one count financial transaction card theft.

Karen Eley Clark — one count aggravated assault.

Edwin Anthony Cruz — one count rape and one count simple battery (family violence)

Frederick A. L. Daughtry — one count possession cocaine with intent to distribute and one count seatbelt violation.

Tony Louis Randall — one count obstruction of an officer.

Marcus Alexander Frederick — one count possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and one count possession of marijuana (less than one ounce).

Crystal Lynn Akridge (a.k.a. Chrystal Akridge Lane) — one count possession methamphetamine and one count possession a Schedule IV controlled substance (Tramadol).

Devin Tayvon Greene — two counts sale of methamphetamine, two counts sale of marijuana, one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and one count possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Larry Williams — one count aggravated assault, one count aggravated battery, and two counts cruelty to a child in the third degree.

Virgil Alan Claxton — one count child molestation.

Zackery Lee Collins — one count failure to register as a sex offender.

Peyton Navy Carroll — one count carrying weapons within certain school areas and one count pointing a gun or a pistol at another.

William Johnathan Conner — two counts homicide by vehicle in the first degree, one count driving under the influence of drugs, one count reckless driving, and one count disregarding traffic control device.
