Kaley Flowers collected three hits in four at bats, as David Emanuel Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Twiggs Academy Varsity Trojans 8-2 on Tuesday, September 22, at Twiggs Academy. Flowers singled in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
Lady Eagles scored five runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Lexie Starley singled, scoring one run, Flowers singled, scoring one run, Rayleigh Faircloth doubled, scoring two runs, and Kate Yeomans grounded out, scoring one run.
Sydney Lively earned the win for Lady Eagles, allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking one, and Faircloth collected the save. Carolann Bryan took the loss for Varsity Trojans, going seven innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking none.
Lady Eagles piled up 12 hits in the game. Faircloth drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lady Eagles with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day, and Emily McRae and Evie Moore each collected multiple hits. Lady Eagles were sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Payton Peebles had the most chances in the field with nine.
Ivy Nelson went 1-for-3 at the plate and led Varsity Trojans with one run batted in. Lilyann Bryan, Nelson, Rowen Garcia, Kendall Patton and Bryan each collected one hit.
