Evelyn Janice Summerset, age 73, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023. A Homecoming Celebration was held Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Promise Connection Ministries with Elder Dolly Jones-Frazier officiating and Rev. Karen Jones presiding.
Evelyn was born June 4, 1949, to the late Lucius Corley and Jessie B. Flowers. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ in Philadelphia, PA and loved to serve the Lord. Evelyn enjoyed studying the Bible and writing. She received an Associates degree in accounting from Community College in Philadelphia, PA. Evelyn often shared words of encouragement. Ms. Summerset is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Willie Corley, and sister, Tina Corley.
Ms. Summerset leave to cherish her memories with her daughter, Jamie (Marquevis) Kelly of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Tau-jamir, Jabriya and Yuhoney Kelly, all of Waynesboro; sisters, Gloria Corley of Swainsboro and Laverne Corley of Philadelphia, PA; many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, devoted friend, Fannie Brigham of Philadelphia, PA, and a devoted sister-in-law, Annatha Johnson.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
