Mr. Eulie Guy Perkins, 80, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness. Graveside service was held Tuesday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Larry Perkins officiating.
Pallbearers were Brandon Hill, Daryl Hill, Lance Perkins, and Larry Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was born May 6, 1943, to the late Horace Perkins and Dorothy Boatright Perkins. He was retired from Union Camp where he worked as a brick mason. Mr. Perkins loved to farm and take care of his livestock. He enjoyed visiting his family in Swainsboro, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Perkins is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Eulus Perkins, Steve Perkins and Eustus Perkins.
Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ethel Perkins of Springfield; sons, Jonathan Perkins (Connie) of Guyton and Eric Perkins of Springfield; daughter, Helen Thrasher (Richard) of Springfield; brother, Alec Perkins of Canoochee; sister, Dorothy Gibson of Swainsboro; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
