Edward Johnson, age 83, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023. A Celebration of Life and Legacy was held Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Rev. Stanford Anderson officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born July 20, 1939, in Glenwood, to the late Cleve Johnson and Ora Johnson. He was a dedicated man who worked hard. Mr. Johnson was employed with R&R Logging for many years. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them and loved seeing them together. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years, Eva Johnson; six brothers; two sisters; and great-grandson.
Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his memories with his children, Gail Johnson and Ronnie Johnson, both of Swainsboro, Edward (Rosemary) Johnson Jr. of Summertown, Tracy Bright of Atlanta, Wendy Carlyle of Vidalia, Anthony (Tracy) Carlyle of Evans, Sonya (Maurice) Mercer, Tonya Jackson, and Tiffany Boetha, all of Statesboro, Kim Carlyle and Christal (Cedric) Carlyle, both of Atlanta, and Sharon (Charles) Young of Swainsboro; other son, Dennis Coney; and many other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
