According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

May 1

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO about being harassed and threatened by offender for a period of time. C/p stated offender was recently arrested for pulling a gun on c/p and tried to shoot him. C/p stated a condition of offender’s bond was that offender was not to have contact with c/p or be on social media contacting c/p. C/p stated since offender’s release on bond, he has been continually contacting him on social media calling c/p names. C/p stated offender has made threats of bodily harm to him in the past and has tried to act on the threats. C/p was advised on how to seek a stalking order against offender.

Deputy was dispatched to Plaza Pharmacy in reference to a vehicle unlock. Vehicle was unlocked without damages.

Deputy responded to the Chevron in reference to a single vehicle accident with a possible intoxicated driver.

May 2

Deputy was dispatched to EmCo Jail in reference to a vehicle unlock. Vehicle was unlocked with no damages.

Deputy met with complainant at ECSO where she stated they put stuff in a storage unit at Kwik Shop and when the family went to get the stuff, there was no lock on the unit and items were missing.

Deputy responded to Bobwhite Rd. in reference to a lock on a gate being cut. Complainant stated her husband left out and when he returned, he found the lock cut. C/p stated she did not know who would cut the lock or why.

Complainant spoke with deputy in reference to harassing communications/stalking regarding her minor daughter.

Deputy observed a vehicle on McGarrh Mill Pond Rd. fail to drive within its designated lane of travel.

May 3

Deputies responded to Bonsue Dr. in reference to a fight. Complainant advised her ex-boyfriend went to her apartment in Statesboro and broke in and took a dog they shared. On this date, offender #2 went to offender #1’s residence to talk. Offender #1 advised he knocked on the door and asked offender #2 and they began to argue. Both offenders started fighting in the yard and c/p and offender #2 left to meet deputies. Offender #1 advised that c/p told him to go get the dog and stated c/p was high when he got there. Offender #1 admitted that he went into her apartment around 3 a.m. and took the dog and stated offender #2 messaged him prior to his arrival wanting to fight. Offender #1 advised that offender #2 forced his way into his grandmother’s residence and he was defending himself and his grandma.

Deputy met with complainant in reference to a lost tag.

Offender was arrested on Griffin Ferry Rd. on a traffic stop for an outstanding warrant and a search warrant was executed. During the search, a large quantity of ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana was located.

May 4

Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 1 South/Toombs Co. Line to pick up a wanted person. Offender was picked up and transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy met with complainant who stated she believed her daughter/suspect has been using her card to get things and it has hurt her financially. C/p stated she has had to go without food and lights because suspect has made her bank account overdrawn. C/p stated she doesn’t want suspect to go to jail, she just wants her to pay back some of the $447.75 she took.

Deputy observed a vehicle traveling 73 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, at which time she initiated a traffic stop. Deputy approached the vehicle and offender gave her license. Upon checking, offender’s license is suspended since 1/5/23 for failure to appear. Offender informed deputy that she paid all her fines. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy was dispatched to McCorkle Ln. for a domestic. Complainant stated he got home and his wife was drinking and left the residence with their three small children and two of her friends.

Deputy was dispatched to Hopkin St. to unlock a vehicle. Vehicle was unlocked successfully.

May 5

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 57 East in reference to a hit and run vehicle coming into EmCo from Candler Co. Deputies were unable to make contact with the vehicle.

Deputy met with complainant in reference to a robbery on Lindsey Rd.

911 contacted Cpl. Of Newton Co. in reference to obtaining property.

May 6

Deputies responded to Christopher Dr. in reference to a male overdosing on marijuana. Victim was found in front of the house laying on the ground in what appeared to be a panic attack. Victim was transported to EMC ER by EMS.

May 7

Deputy was dispatched to Deluxe Inn in reference to a locked vehicle. Vehicle was unlocked with no damages.

Deputy was dispatched to Union Church in reference to a vehicle unlock. Vehicle was unlocked with no damages.

Deputies met with complainant in reference to a Criminal Trespass report. Deputies were advised that the suspect was on a Hunting club property and had set up a camp site without permission. Upon further investigation, it was determined that someone had spent an extensive amount of time at the site and appeared that someone had actually been living there. Items found included a make-shift tent with several items accumulated on the inside and multiple items strewn about in disarray outside that included clothing materials, various containers, tools, cooking supplies with food, an AATV, and two small dogs leashed to a tree. Deputies located and detained the suspect and as a verbal agreement with the property owners, suspect agreed to clean up the side and vacate the property in lieu of prosecution with the understanding not to return.

Deputy was dispatched to N. Racetrack St. in reference to a vehicle unlock. Vehicle was unlocked with no damages.

Deputy was contacted by SPD in reference to lost property that had been turned over to SPD. A debit card and a billfold belonging to two individuals was turned over to ECSO until the owners can be located.

Deputy responded to GLS State Park for a vehicle unlock. Vehicle was unlocked with no damages.

Deputy responded to Hwy 80 East for a lost pedestrian. Complainant called 911 for deputies to give him a ride while deputies were on another call. Upon making contact, deputy learned that the c/p was the offender. Offender appeared intoxicated with slurred speech and swaying. Offender was arrested for public drunk and misuse of 911.
