ECI JROTC cadets attend Service Learning trip

On Tuesday, October 17, Emanuel County Institute JROTC cadets went on a Service Learning field trip to Fort Stewart to engage cadets with real-life experiential learning beyond the classroom, teaching cadets the importance of compassion, selfless service, and commitment. The cadets visited the 3rd Infantry Division Museum and the Warriors Walk, then ate lunch in the Thunder Dining Facility on Fort Stewart. The cadets saw a true visual perception of American history as they received an in-depth history lesson from the museum curator. The Warrior’s Walk is where the cadets show honor for the Fallen Soldiers who paid the ultimate price for our freedom based on their research on one of the Fallen Soldiers prior to the trip. The Warrior’s Walk is a walkway of white flowering Crape Myrtle trees that stands as a remembrance of our courageous soldiers who demonstrated exceptional valor and honor and is dedicated to the soldiers and attached units of the 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia who served in Operation's Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, in which it serves as an honored reminder of the sacrifices of each of the Fallen Soldiers.
