The first Saturday in November to most is just another weekend. One more weekend drawing closer to Thanksgiving. In Twin City, however, the first Saturday of November means it is time for the Cotton Blossom Festival. We are thrilled to be hosting the 4th year of this fun small town gathering here in the heart of Twin City. Live music will fill the air while the smell of tasty treats will tease your senses. Vintage tractors, arts and crafts vendors, and classic cars are sure to keep you entertained for a fun filled day.
This year we are proud to highlight our first Cotton Blossom classic car show. Whether you are a hardcore car enthusiast or just appreciate a cool ride, you do not want to miss this. When guests are done perusing these classic hot rods, they can continue their walk-through vintage rides by checking out our display of antique tractors, agricultural history for all to admire. From there visitors can take a trip over to vendor row where they can shop until they drop. Craftsmen, artists, and all sorts of vendors will be on hand for all your shopping needs. From sweets and treats to leather goods; from homemade blankets to custom metal work and everything in between, there’s something for everyone. There’s no better chance to support local businesses! Of course, what festival is complete without food and music. This year’s festival will be loaded with food trucks full of mouthwatering BBQ, savory Philly cheese steak sandwiches, and some of the best desserts around. While the food trucks fill guests’ stomachs, our musical acts will fill their ears with top-tier tunes. The ECI Band, Steven Clark, Mark Lillquist, and others will step on to the stage, each captivating the audience and filling the air with their heartfelt performances. The Cotton Blossom Festival is also proud to present this year’s headliner, Clayton Hackle. Clayton brings with him a country sound and an energetic performance wherever he goes.
We haven’t forgotten about the kids. Returning this year is the Georgia Southern University Wildlife Center! Kids and adults will be able to have a unique hands-on experience with some very awesome critters. From there our younger visitors should head over to see our local library attendees. The Franklin Memorial Library will be present with books on hand. Be sure to check them out.
Mayor Matt Donaldson, along with the festival committee, wants to invite everyone to save the date, November 2nd from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and join us for a day of shopping, gourmet treats, local craftsmanship, fast cars, and live performances. The 4th Annual Cotton Blossom Festival will be a day of family fun for all our community. We hope to see you there!
