Bulloch Academy used a strong middle-quarter surge to pull away from the David Emanuel Academy Lady Eagles on Wednesday night, November 12, handing DEA a 56–39 road loss despite a gritty effort from the visitors.
The Lady Eagles opened the game with energy, keeping pace with Bulloch through the early minutes and executing well on the offensive end. But the second quarter proved costly, as turnovers and missed opportunities allowed Bulloch to build separation before halftime.
DEA regrouped in the third quarter, but Bulloch found another gear from beyond the arc, knocking down multiple three-pointers to widen the gap and maintain control heading into the final period.
Despite the deficit, the Lady Eagles continued to battle. Emily McRae led the scoring effort with 12 points, while Aubrey Williams added 10 in a steady offensive showing. On the boards, Kaley Flowers dominated the glass, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Head coach Daniel Flowers credited his team’s fight but acknowledged the turning points. “The girls played hard all night, but we had trouble in the 2nd quarter with turnovers and missed some shots. In the 3rd quarter Bulloch was able to get hot from the 3-point line and pulled away from us.”
The Lady Eagles will look to bounce back in their next matchup vs. STEAM Academy.
