COTW: Stormie Kimbrough Dunaway
This week’s Cook of the Week is Stormie Kimbrough Dunaway. Stormie will be 4 on Sunday, June 27. She is the daughter of Lester and Kimbrough Dunaway of Swainsboro. Stormie dances at Southern Dance Connections and has been enjoying participating at the library’s reading program this summer. She has also taken gymnastics and played her first season of t-ball. Stormie will be starting Pre-K in August. Her favorite food is chicken nugget meals. She loves to read, play with bubbles, learn new dances off YouTube, attend dance camp, spending time with her family and her newest hobby – helping in the kitchen. Stormie wishes to share a few of her unicorn birthday party goodies with you. These can be used with other themes. Stormie hopes everyone enjoys them as much as she and her friends have!

Unicorn Popcorn
Popcorn, as much as needed
3 Cans colored edible spray (pink, blue, purple)
1 Container unicorn sprinkles
1 Container gold sugar glitter sprinkles

Lay popcorn out on a covered baking sheet. Do each color separate. Spray color on popcorn, it dries quickly. Pour all coated popcorn into a big bowl and mix. Place into individual bags and sprinkle in a little of the gold sugar glitter sprinkles and unicorn sprinkles into each bag. Tie up each bag and shake.

Unicorn Chocolate Cookie Pops
1 Box chocolate creamed filled cookies, double stuffed
1 Bag white candy melt (can use other colors)
1 Container colored sugar sprinkles
1 Container unicorn sprinkles
1 Pack of cake pop sticks

Melt candy melts for 30 seconds on 5 percent in microwave, stirring in between until fully melted. Carefully remove top from cookies and dip end of cake pop stick in melted candy. Press into cream gently. Put top back on cookie. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes to allow to harden. After setup, reheat candy melt as before. Carefully dip cookies in melted candy completely. Gently tap on side of cup. Wipe bottom of cookie carefully on rim of cup to remove extra candy. Lay flat on a lined baking sheet. While wet, attach unicorn sprinkle on center of cookie and then sprinkle with colored sugar sprinkles. Allow to set before bagging individually.

Unicorn Rice Krispies
6 c. Rice Krispies
3 Tbsp. butter, cut into pieces
10 oz. bag mini marshmallows
1 Container sprinkles of choice
1-2 Bag Candy melts, color of your choice
1 Container unicorn sprinkles
1 Package unicorn horn picks

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Melt butter for one minute in microwave safe bowl, large enough to mix everything in. Add marshmallows and stir to coat in melted butter. Microwave for one to one and half minutes. Add sprinkles and stir marshmallows mixture. Add Rice Krispies to mixture and stir until coated well. Pour out on cookie sheet and cover with another piece of parchment paper. You can flatten by hand or with a rolling pin to desired thickness. Remove parchment paper. Melt candy in microwave for 30 seconds at 5 percent until melted. Drizzle across Rice Krispies treats and sprinkle with unicorn sprinkles. Allow to set up for about three hours. Cut into desired sizes and add unicorn horn picks at top before bagging.

Unicorn Pizza
Pizza of choice (store, homemade, or restaurant)
3 Containers food gel dye (pink, blue, purple)
1 Bag mozzarella cheese
3 Zip Lock bags

Add equal parts of cheese to each bag. Add a little gel, one color to each bag. Seal and shake bag to evenly coat. Add more gel, if needed, and repeat. Allow to sit for about 30 minutes. Do not mix cheese together when adding to pizza, add in designs or in circles. Sprinkle cheese on to pizza and cook as directed or reheat until melted.
