The ECI Bulldogs punched their ticket to the second round of the state playoffs Friday with a win against the GMC Bulldogs from Milledgeville.

They take the 2 ½ hour bus ride to Homerville Friday to take on Clinch Co. in the second round of the Class A Division II state playoffs.

Both ECI and Clinch easily won their first-round games to set up the match-up.

ECI defeated GMC Friday 63-7 while Clinch sent Chattahoochee Co. back to Cusseta with a 48-20 loss.

Both teams are currently ranked in the top 10 in Class A Division II. The Bulldogs are sitting at number 10 while the Panthers are ranked second behind number one Lincoln Co.

Along with Clinch, Charlton Co. and Brooks Co. from region 2 will be playing Friday.

Region 3 will have ECI, Jenkins Co. and Screven Co., the 1-3 seeds, seeing action in the second round. ECI and Jenkins will be on the road while region champion, Screven Co. will be home.
