Mr. Billy Ray Williams, 68, of Kite, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Community Hospice in Vidalia following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 18, at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment followed in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.The family received friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Friday, November 18, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Kylon Lopez, Taylon Martinez, Vance Lively, Brandon Williams, Rhett Mixon, Hunter Moore, and Matthew Steptoe.

Mr. Williams was born February 16, 1954, in Swainsboro, to Bennie S. Williams (Margie) and Ruthie Lee Powell. He was a retired construction worker, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling, and planting. Billy Ray was a member of Oak Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sons, Bennie Williams (Diana) of Kite and Christopher Williams (Francine) of Atlanta; daughter, Sabrina Martinez (Juan) of Kite; stepson, Tracy Lively (Melissa) of Dublin; stepdaughter, Lisa Miller (Wendy Farrow) of Adrian; grandchildren, Austin Ledesma, Danielle Williams, Karina Mixon, Brandon Williams, Kylon Lopez, Taylon Martinez, Kassidy Martinez, Malaina Williams, Stevie Miller, Vance Lively, Katrina Miller, Tyler Lively, Slayter Miller, Matt Steptoe, and Rudie Steptoe; great-grandchildren, Athena Ledesma, J.R. Mixon, Olivia Mixon, Ellarye Martinez, Alayah Martinez, and Bristol Sharpe; brother, Cliff Williams; sisters, Judy Riner, Brenda Creech, Sherry Purvis, and Trisha Wheeler; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
