After a five-day break in the schedule for the Labor Day weekend, the Lady Tigers were back in action last Tuesday on the road at Tattnall County. The game remained scoreless until the top of the third inning when Swainsboro turned two walks and five singles into a 4-0 lead. The Lady Tigers then scored two more runs in the sixth and finally closed out the scoring in the seventh inning on a Gracie Beneteau inside-the-park home run. The final score of the game was 8-1.

Swainsboro pounded out 12 hits on the night and were led by Gracie Beneteau, Chloe Boulineau, Sara Smith, Berklie Bishop, and Izzy Baird who all had two hits on the evening. Cassidy Jordan also had a hit and two walks in her four trips to the plate. From the circle, Boulineau recorded her fifth win of the season as she gave up just one run on two hits in the game.

On Thursday, Swainsboro traveled to Lyons to take on the #2 ranked Toombs County Bulldogs. The Lady Tigers put up a good fight but were not able to get any offense going against Toombs County pitcher Shayla Stringer and fell by a final score of 4-0.

On Monday, the Lady Tigers hosted the Razorbacks of Cross Creek High School. The Lady Tigers scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to an impressive 18-0 victory. The 18 runs were scored by 15 different Lady Tigers players. The Swainsboro offense was led by junior outfielder Gracie Beneteau who had a triple and three RBI in the game.

Swainsboro now stands at seven wins and seven losses on the season. The Tigers will hit the road later this week for a game at Vidalia on Thursday and then travel to Johnson County on Monday and Savannah Christian on Tuesday. All game times will be 6 p.m.
