Ann Youmans, 83

Mrs. Ann Youmans, 83, of Swainsboro, received her wings and went to heaven to walk with the angels on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral service was held Saturday, August 5, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral home with Chaplain Brian Durden officiating. The family received friends from Saturday, August 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Ricks, Skip Youmans, and Mark Kirby.

Ann was born February 9, 1940, in Swainsboro, to the late Johnnie Wesley Lamb and Sara Meeks Lamb. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Swainsboro. Ann was a life-long resident of Emanuel County and known by many people in her small town. She was married to her husband, Bob Youmans, for 59 years, and they made their home in Lexsy. Together, they had three children: Jeany Youmans Webb (Russell), Paula Youmans Sidey and William Win Youmans (Erin). Mrs. Youmans was a Mimi to six grandsons: Parker, Lawton, Will, Asa, Case and Reid. She graduated from Georgia Southern College and was a teacher for many years, teaching second grade at DEA. Mrs. Ann is remembered as a favorite teacher to many. She taught bible school when her children were young, was a former member of the Garden Club, and loved to play Bunko with her friends. Ann loved to travel with her family and attended many Troy football games over the years. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing delicious food for her family and friends. Ann was such a kind and generous person. She always reached out to those in need. Mrs. Ann was a woman of incredible strength and had very strong faith. She will live in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Mrs. Youmans is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Melvin Lamb.
